Chad Risko

Chad Risko is the John C. Hubbard Professor of Chemistry in the University of Kentucky (UK) Department of Chemistry and is an affiliated faculty member of the UK Center for Applied Energy Research. Since 2021, Chad serves as the Faculty Director of the UK Office of Undergraduate Research and as an Associate Editor at Chemistry of Materials. Chad’s research blends principles from organic and physical chemistry, condensed-matter physics, materials science, and data science and artificial intelligence/machine learning to develop computational materials chemistry approaches to better understand and design materials for advanced electronics and power generation and storage applications. For his research and teaching, Chad received the Office of Naval Research Young Investigator Award, was selected as a Cottrell Scholar (Research Corporation for Science Advancement, RCSA), and was an RCSA Scialog Fellow for Advanced Energy Storage. At UK, Chad has been honored with the 2019 UK College of Arts & Sciences Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Research Mentoring, and the 2021 UK Alumni Association Great Teacher Award.
